Starship flight test 5, WAU!

Sunday 10/13/24, time 11:36 PM

It's amazing what you can do with today's technology. The rocket's 70-meter first stage returned to the ground 7 minutes after launch to the launch pad and can be reused. The rocket's tip, Starship, went into space and landed in the Indian Ocean as planned an hour after launch. SpaceX's goal is to make Starship a fully reusable rocket system.

You could watch all of this on the Internet at the time of the event with good picture and sound quality. When you looked at it, it felt like you were watching a science fiction movie! That's how incredible the return to the ground of the first stage looked. The Wikipedia article about the flight was written at the same time.

There have been thousands of different rocket launches over the past 60 years, but this was a very significant launch and will surely go down in the history books. This big rocket can take us back to the moon and later to Mars. And much cheaper than at the time of the Apollo rockets.
